The Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board is charged with the responsibility of performing all functions assigned to it in terms of the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Act, 1996 (Act 4 of 1996). The Objectives of the Board are to control and regulate gambling within the province by providing a stable, just, consistent and effective regulatory environment that is free from corruption and unlawful gambling activities, inspiring public confidence and trust whilst contributing to the economy of the Western Cape in an innovative and socially responsible manner
